Midseason Report Card - Chicago Cubs

In 2004, the Red Sox ended their 86 year World Championship drought. The next year, the White Sox ended their 88 year drought. This trend looks pretty good for the Cubbies, as they’re trying to win a championship for the first time since 1908. This decade will probably end up being known as “Return of the Deadball Era Teams”. But what will the Cubs have to do to make that happen?

Midseason Report Card - Milwaukee Brewers

You know what would be really fun? I think the Milwaukee Brewers should dress C.C. Sabathia up in a billy goat costume when they play the Chicago Cubs at the end of the month and again in middle September. I’d love to see the Cubs fans (and Sweet Lou) react to that one. Anyway, what’s going on in Milwaukee? Is Sabathia enough for them to reach the playoffs?

Midseason Report Card - Oakland Athletics

You know, the more I think about it, the more I don’t think the A’s are a true contender this year. They just don’t quite seem to have the hitting or pitching. They’re just a notch shy of playoff material. You might think I’m crazy to say that, since the Athletics have the best pitching in the American League… or do they?

Midseason Report Card - Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

The Angels are 5 games ahead of second place Oakland and only a half game back in the race for home field advantage. They’re pretty much a sure thing to make the playoffs… unless the Rangers keep pressing towards first place and the A’s keep overachieving. What can The “Los Angeles” Angels of Anaheim do to assure themselves of a fourth division title in five seasons?
